SSA Holster Course

UThe Sydenham Sportsmen’s Association Club Level Holster Course is required before using a Holster on any of the SSA ranges.  This includes individual shooting on the Handgun range and activities such as Cowboy Action Shooting or Defensive Pistol Training.

The course will begin in the SSA Clubhouse on Sunday, May 28th starting at 10:00 am at the clubhouse.  Live firing at the Handgun range will be after 1:00 pm.  Bring a lunch.  Participants should finish the training at approximately 3 pm.  Registration online is required by purchasing a ticket for this event below.

IMPORTANT:

RAIN OR SHINE.  Be prepared to shoot in the rain if required.  No Refunds. 

The course consists of in class presentations and demonstrations followed by dry fire practice.    Live fire qualification on the handgun range will follow in class testing (including a short written quiz) and lunch.

DO NOT BRING AMMUNITION INTO THE SSA CLUBHOUSE.  LEAVE IT IN YOUR VEHICLE.

This is not a beginner handgun training course – participants are expected to be proficient with handling their firearm and related equipment before attending the course.

Equipment required:

Handgun in proper working order

Proper fitting holster for handgun which completely covers the open portion of the trigger guard

Sturdy Belt

50 rounds of ammunition (minimum)

Hearing and Eye Protection

Extra magazines / speed loaders

Dress for all weather conditions – rain or shine.
